How to prevent
Excessive Sweating

Do you sweat excessively?

If your underarms sweat excessively, you suffer from axillary hyperhidrosis. The body normally produces sweat to regulate body temperature. The nerves controlling the sweat glands become overactive and produce excessive sweat in hyperhidrosis sufferers. If you suffer from hyperhidrosis, you know only too well how this condition can impact your everyday life. You become apprehensive of social interactions and you hesitate to shake people’s hands, sit nearby strangers or even hug loved ones. What if you could find a way to treat your hyperhidrosis and forget about these uncomfortable thoughts?

Want a sweat-free life?

Hyperhidrosis is not a temporary condition. Many people who suffer from it have suffered for many years, often from childhood or sometimes from adolescence.  One treatment, no sweat

Botulinum toxin, is one of the safest, most-efficient ways to treat  axillary hyperhidrosis. An injection blocks communication between nerves and sweat glands, thereby preventing the production of excessive sweat. At your free consultation your clinician will determine with you how best to approach your condition and offer the treatment you require. Our treatments are always designed and delivered by an experienced professional in a safe, clinical environment. Axillary hyperhidrosis can be safely and effectively treated with botulinum toxin. Our solutions can help you regain control and feel clean, fresh and confident.

They really understand your needs and desires and explain the procedure step by step.

Both Stephanie and Ed are great and have a wide knowledge of all of the treatments offered at the Bleu Clinic. I have had Botox to all 3 areas and have come back to them for seconds. I have also had lip fillers and can’t wait to try the face peels. I have recently started using the recommended Neostrata skin care regime and love how it feels on my skin and can really see the difference it makes. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

HYPERHIDROSIS TREATMENT FAQ

How is the hyperhidrosis treatment done?
Your clinician will administer tiny injections of Bocouture® to the affected area. The procedure will take between 10 and 20 minutes. To help relieve pain and discomfort, physicians can offer anaesthetic creams.

.

How long will it take to reduce sweating?
Within a few days of your treatment, you will notice a reduction in sweating, but you will most likely enjoy the full benefits of the treatment after 7 to 14 days.
How long will the effects last?
Sweating is usually controlled for 6 to 12 months. Repeat treatments can be administered as the effects begin to wane. This is something you can discuss with your physician at your free consultation.
Are there any side effects?
You may experience mild discomfort at the time of your Bocouture®  treatment. Potential side effects of botulinum toxin injections include:

  • pain, redness or itching where the injections are given
  • nausea, headaches and hot flushes after the injections are given
  • another part of your body sweating more to make up for treated area – known as compensatory sweating
  • muscle weakness around the treatment area

Most of these side effects are short-lived or will resolve as the effect of the injections wears off.

However, the risks of side effects are minimised by having a professional assess & manage your condition, so you are with us in safe hands.

Is Botulinium an effective treatment for Sweating?
Medical studies and patient testimonials have confirmed that Botulinum toxin reduces sweating and improves lifestyle. The level of reduction depends on each individual.  Botulinum toxin is not a cure for hyperhidrosis. As the nerve endings regrow, the sweating returns. When this occurs  you should receive top-up injections to start the cycle again.
Can I have Botulinum toxin if I am pregnant?
Botox for hyperhidrosis is not recommended for pregnant women or mothers who are breastfeeding.
